Hurricane and Severe Weather Equine Stall Rental Request
At World Equestrian Center – Ocala, the safety and well-being of horses in our community is our highest priority. During hurricanes and other severe weather events, we make every effort to accommodate emergency stall requests; however, stall availability is not guaranteed.
Stall Availability
WEC – Ocala management actively monitors all incoming storms. Stall availability will open only if and when a storm’s projected path warrants evacuation.
Opening times may vary by storm. Stalls will be released in priority order, with areas expecting a direct impact considered first.
If or when stalls become available, WEC – Ocala will open the below request form on this page and announce it through the WEC – Ocala Facebook page.
How to Request Stabling
Once stalls are open for a specific weather event, requests must be submitted through the official form (available at the bottom of this page when open). Note, stalls are available for horses and donkeys only.
Please submit only one stall request per group of evacuees. If additional requests are submitted at a later time, we cannot guarantee that the stalls will be located near the original group.
Required Health Documentation
- All horses must arrive with proof of a current negative Coggins test (within 12 months)
- Health documents must be submitted through the form. Horses without proper paperwork will not be permitted to unload on WEC property.
Horses who fail to arrive with appropriate health forms/paperwork cannot unload on WEC grounds.
Stall Set-Up, Trailer Parking and Care Requirements
Trailer parking is available in the ship-in lots in front of Indoor Arena 5 and across from the UF Veterinary Hospital near Barn K.
While we will do our best to prepare stalls ahead of arrival, they may not be set to our usual standards due to the timing of the storm.
Owners are fully responsible for the care and supervision of their horses while stabled on WEC property.
- All stalls must be bedded; shavings must be purchased through the form below.
- Please bring your own water buckets and feed.
- Hay and grain are available for purchase at the WEC Feed Store, 352.414.3650 or text 352.763.1725.
- Post emergency contact information outside each stall. This should include the contact for the person responsible for the care of the horse(s) while on WEC property.
No riding under any circumstances.
Before Departure
All stalls must be stripped before leaving the property.

Cancellations
If you need to cancel a stall reservation, please email hurricanestalls@wec.net. Be sure to include your Transaction ID and the name of the physically responsible person in the body of your message. To help us quickly identify your request, please use the subject line format:
